Summer Reading 2023 is Find Your Voice!
Each year the East Hampton Public Library sponsors fun and educational Summer Reading Programs for children, teens, and adults! Our children’s and teen programs are designed to work with our local schools’ required Summer Reading to help prevent summer learning loss and to motivate kids and teens to not only read, but to engage with their community and try new things. And why should kids and teens have all the fun? We welcome adults to participate, too! Our Adult Summer Reading program also offers the opportunity for fun, community engagement and fabulous prizes! The more raffle tickets you earn, the better your chances of winning great prizes!

All Ages Summer Reading Kick Off Party
Join us at Center School to kick off our Summer Reading celebration on Friday, June 23rd from 5pm-7pm. Come sign up for Summer Reading and enjoy all of the fun activities at our kick off event! Run an inflatable obstacle course, dance to live music by DJ Montez, visit with our friends from Epoch Arts, eat a free snow cone, pet adorable goats from Circle K Farm, and paint with water balloons as we celebrate the start of another great summer at the library!
Children’s Summer Reading: Birth to Grade 5
Set a weekly reading goal with your child. You can choose whether to read a certain number of books or to read for a certain number of minutes. Each week, read to meet your goal! Children can read independently or can be read to. It all counts! Once your child has met their goal, visit the Library for their weekly sticker and raffle tickets to put towards winning great prizes like a bicycle, a paint party, rock climbing passes, and more!
Teen Summer Reading: Grades 6 – 12
Each week complete different challenges including reading for an hour, trying a new recipe, or picking up trash in your neighborhood, then check in at the Library to receive raffle tickets to put towards winning our amazing prizes like a bike, board or video games, craft sets and more! Teens can also stop in at the library once a day to receive a scratch-off card that gives you more chances to win!
Adult Summer Reading: Ages 18 and up!
Each week complete different challenges including reading for an hour, going for a walk, or attending a library program, then check in at the Library to receive your raffle tickets to put towards winning our amazing prizes like a record player, tickets to a Hartford Athletic game, books and more! Adults can also visit the library once a week to receive a scratch-off card that gives you more chances to win!
